Naimat Chopra

Ms. Naimat Chopra offers a decade of extensive experience collaborating with prominent international organizations such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, GIZ, OECD, and UNDP. Her expertise lies in providing strategic knowledge leadership, designing effective business strategies, and executing on-the-ground assignments across Asia and Africa.

Having spent recent years in the United States and the Netherlands, she has specialized in analyzing the economic impact of development projects. Presently, Ms. Chopra serves as a Consultant with the Asian Development Bank, focusing on instituting reforms across South Asian economies.

A graduate of the esteemed Ivy League institution, the University of Pennsylvania, Ms. Chopra holds an MSc. in Social Policy & Data Analytics. She also possesses an MBA in International Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Delhi, India.

Recipient of the Kleinman Energia Fellowship, a fully funded climate and energy research opportunity with an International Development organization- Hivos, Ms. Chopra developed a comprehensive rubric for assessing gender equity in energy access across 149 UN Energy compacts submitted by national governments and organizations worldwide. Her analysis was featured in the UN Energy annual progress report for 2022. She further contributed to energy policy research as a graduate fellow at the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy in the United States, focusing on the geopolitics of fertilizer production & carbon farming practices.

In her role as a Data & Knowledge specialist with SEforALL- UN Energy, Ms. Chopra led the design of an interactive online energy access tracker, consolidating information from 30 funding agencies across 60 group projects. Her efforts aimed to enhance coordination among stakeholders in promoting results-based financing (RBF) programs in Africa.

Prior to UPenn, Ms. Chopra served as a Strategy Consultant at Deloitte India. She also contributed her expertise to quasi-governmental organizations like the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), conducting policy analysis to provide evidence-based recommendations to Indian line ministries.

Ms. Chopra has authored publications on international trade issues, the geopolitics of energy transition, and carbon sequestration as part of the clean energy equation. Fluent in Hindi and English, she also possesses elementary knowledge of Spanish.
